About Me
I am Krissa Laine — an author, educator, and parenting coach with a deep commitment to supporting families through the challenges of modern parenting. Over more than a decade of working with children and families, I have focused on child psychology, behavior management, and emotional development. That work is where every book I write begins.
A practical, compassionate approach
My passion is helping parents cultivate strong, healthy relationships with their children. I try to demystify complex child behaviors and offer strategies parents can put to work right away to improve family dynamics. Everything I share is rooted in real-world techniques and evidence-based practice, because I believe good parenting advice should be both warm and well-founded — something that fosters understanding, patience, and better communication between parents and their kids.
How to Parent Children with ADHD
My first book lays out 48 specific strategies designed to support neurodivergent children. It is built to help parents strengthen their child’s emotional regulation, focus, and self-control, and it reflects my belief in inclusivity and real support for every kind of learner. More than a method, it is an invitation to understand your child more deeply.
Practical Anger Management for Parents
In my second book, I turn the lens back onto us as parents. It offers 44 detailed techniques and tips to help you manage your own emotions, understand your triggers, and communicate more calmly. Staying grounded in the hardest moments is one of the most important things we can do for our children, and this book has become a trusted companion for parents working to build a positive, nurturing environment at home.
The Play Therapy Playbook for Parents
My third book brings together more than a hundred fun-filled activities and techniques designed to deepen the parent-child connection. I wrote it because I see play as one of the most underrated tools we have for building resilience, communication, and personal growth in children. My goal was to take the benefits of play therapy out of the clinic and make them accessible in any living room.
Why I keep writing
I continue to work in the field of child psychology and parenting because I believe that with the right knowledge and the right tools, every parent can guide their child toward a more joyful and understanding relationship — and a fulfilling childhood equipped with the resilience and skills they will carry into the rest of their lives. Thank you for being here.
